It’s not just about orientation – it is also about job skills training, health and safety and recognizing all employees who are being welcomed into the company.
This multinational client came to Digital Mentor Group when facing a high number of impending retirements of full-time employees. To contain costs, they were sourcing new employees through temporary agencies.
We built work instructions for pilot production lines, then trained a team of designers and trainers to create job instructions and refine processes in preparation for their Lean initiative.
Digital Mentor Group worked with key players to develop new standard work instructions that captured the skills, knowledge and experience of retiring employees. Our structured approach to job skills training helped to effectively pass on the capabilities of full-time employees to new employees joining the company.
By leading customized Design Workshops, we helped employees create a standardized set of work instructions based on our WHYSEEQTM system. We also used One Way... Right WayTM system workshops for job skills training that employees attended before beginning their training responsibilities.
The company is now able to grow and maintain their vast knowledge base, and has minimized the risk exposure of retiring employees. The transfer of valuable job skills to new employees has been refined into an efficient process that maximizes learning and prepares employees for the work in a matter of days.
